Douglas Leinen Underneath the well constructed mix of 90's alternative rock and 80's synth pop aesthetics that blend to make something completely modern, you start to hear some really thought provoking lyrics about humanity's direction. All without being heavy handed or over dramatic. Just a simple question of "does anyone else see that this system isn't working?". A great album. Favorite track: The Whole World Has No Clothes.

we need something something for everyone I feel nothing nothing for everyone the pixel is fading the man is erasing my hands are draining the band is playing so what? we're so smart, so what? too much time with head in my hands wake me up in time to leave the past post the bombs and ease the blast I can say what's on my mind I can send it up and make a site we're emptying the infinite paradigm reach out and touch it, reach out and feel it feel the tear in the sky reach out and touch it, reach out and feel it raise your hands cause it's all that is left... we need something something for everyone I feel nothing nothing for everyone the pixel is fading the man is erasing my hands are draining the band is playing so what? we're so smart, so what?

recently it occurs to me that we're not buying cover with our money it's time to settle up, it's time to settle in we're not building walls with our concrete we're walking straight into the long night dancing slow to the war drums between the earth, the sky the words and the missiles an explosion is an explosion is an explosion everybody loses it, the lose it, they lose it... isn't it obvious that The Whole World Has No Clothes? everybody knows... isn't it obvious that The Whole World Has No Clothes? everybody knows...

most of us live under cover most of the time we're cold most of the lies are discovered and most of the answers are old we designed exactly our decline its out of our hands the closing of man and you got, you got what you wanted... we wait on the air to recover holding our breath til the end afraid to lock eyes with another tying our hands to the bench and we relied on only modern eyes to feed every mouth and touch every heart and you got, you got what you wanted.... everyone knows why you do it and wonders if they could resist we don't blame for being tempted we blame you for blowing all of it and you get, you get what is coming...

wherever i land is where you can pick wherever i fall is where i reach out my hand and its all by chance there's too much time before the closing bell there's too little time to sort out the stories we tell stories we don't need to sell all of the lies we settle for keep you warm all o the lies we settle for never admit i think this is all cause we want it we fake the reasons to exists the answers are resisted and i don't want it to be forgotten i want to bathe in the nonsense all the evidence points to this all of the lies we settle for keep you warm all o the lies we settle for never admit

Hear the words as you read my lips Repeat it back to me I’m giving you the license to break my heart Go away come back I know you have to go But I prefer to never know Go away come back I don’t want you to go… please, not today. take the ball and I’ll show you the game to play with somebody else the seed is planted, no water is spared you’re ready but I’m not prepared go away come back I’m telling you to go away But obviously I’d rather you stay Go away come back I don’t want you to go Please, not today Go away, come back... not today

there's something in the water and it shows me, the understanding dupe and the rest of us in rows arrows bows bodies throes there's a fight worth fighting if you promise not to choke some want romantic shores and bloody births we built it, we didn't they brought us worth a people's ambition and opposition are all.. sometime's the urge to survive is not the same as the want to stay alive something's in the water and it shows me the understanding dupe and the rest of us in rows arrows bows bodies throes is the fight worth fighting if you empty out your purse? sometimes the worst of the worst seems like the only and first... it is. its the stick in your spoke, its the laugh before the joke its the enemy of progeny its the progeny of tragedy sometime's the urge to survive is not the same as the want to stay alive...

about

The Whole World Has No Clothes was written and recorded in the front room of a suburban house on a suburban street overlooking a suburban landscape that is as scary as it is seemingly secure.

Slow moving cars and groups of kids head to school and back. To work and back. To baseball practice and back. To pep rallies and back. Perpetuating a soothing yet manic rhythm punctuated by the playful shouts of kids and the buzz of professional landscaping equipment.

The rhythm revolves around no beat and the melodies upon no foundation. There is nothing inside the infatuation with success. The games have no audience. The land has no protector. There is no heart inside the Frankenstein.

People are born, grow, mature and die. They require certain conditions to stay alive, to flourish and to provide for a future. Love is the backbone of the orchestra which sings the human symphony. The one to which we dance back and forth, to and from, us to them and them to the next.

There is nothing else.
